Processing Lab

A specimen processing laboratory is adjacent to the GCRC In-Patient and Out-patient facilities in rooms M912/M914. The lab is normally staffed Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Limited staffing is available on weekends with advance notice.

This lab is available for GCRC SAC approved protocols for routine specimen processing for research use only. Processing activities can include:

• Specimen centrifugation
• Preparation of specimen aliquots (including specimen handling in a laminar flow hood)
• Short term storage of research specimens
• 4^oC refrigeration
• -20^oC freezer space
• -80^oC ultra-low freezer space
• Preparation of aliquot tubes with labels
• Labeling of blood collection tubes
